Annual Dinner

Every year on the first Wednesday of December the Society holds its annual dinner. In recent years the dinner has been held in the Edinburgh Sheraton Grand Hotel. Around 400 Society members and their guests attend the event. Distinguished guests include the Lord Provost of the City of Edinburgh, the heads of each branch of Her Majesty’s Forces in Scotland, The Chief Constable. The main toasts of the evening are: Her Majesty’s Forces; The City of Edinburgh; The Society of High Constables of Edinburgh; and Kindred Societies and Guests.

On the above menu covers from 1903 and 2003 the Moderator’s Gold Medal is surrounded by a garland of leaves. On the leaves are inscribed the names of all Moderators since 1707.
